Far-Sighted Ortho K 2 week follow up

This is the 2 week follow up for a far-sighted ortho K patient. It follows his journey and we get to ask him questions about how his vision and comfort in the lenses has been. Ortho K (Orthokeratology) is where you sleep in a lens at night, take it out during the day and then you’re glasses and contact lens free during the day.

At night the lens reshapes the front of the eye to correct your prescription. It’ like having non-surgical LASIK. Our client in this video does MMA and Muy Thai and enjoys the freedom on not having his glasses or contacts on while sparring. It does take time for the cornea to mold so when doing lenses for the first time there are often several visits.

There is the initial visit, the dispense and training of insertion and removal of the lenses, the 2 week Follow up and 2 month follow up. At the 2 week follow up we assess if the lenses are doing what we expect them to do. If the precription and shaping is headed the right direction we don’t make any adjustments.

At the 2 month appointment if we are still not at the prescription we want we will re-order a new set of lenses with an adjusted Rx.
